Rio Tinto to drive the ranger rehabilitation

Rio Tinto (ASX: RIO) to drive the ranger rehabilitation project for ERA
Rio Tinto, a prominent mining company based in Australia, has joined forces with Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) to embark on a significant endeavor – the rehabilitation of the Ranger Uranium Mine. The management service agreement (MSA) was formally signed on April 3rd, 2024, marking a pivotal moment in the journey towards sustainable environmental practices.

With a rich history spanning 40 years, the Ranger Uranium Mine held the distinction of being Australia's longest continually operating uranium oxide producer. However, recognizing the importance of environmental stewardship, the decision was made to cease operations in 2021. This closure signaled a new chapter in the mine's story – one focused on restoration and rehabilitation.
